Accreditation

ZAWebs t/a ZAWebHosts has been accredited as an independent Registrar to register .co.za Domain Names through the ZACR Registry registry system. In policy documents reference is made to the “Administrator”.

All Domain Names that we register on behalf of clients within the .co.za domain name space are subject to the Administrator’s Policies, which may be amended from time to time. These policies can be viewed on-line here

International domains such as .com, .de, .eu etc are registered through ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) a nonprofit organization responsible for coordinating the maintenance and procedures of several databases related to the namespaces and numerical spaces of the Internet, ensuring the network's stable and secure operation. This is done through the Resellerclub.

Registration of Domain Names

Upon receipt of a Domain Name Registration Order, ZAWebHosts will register, transfer or renew an internet domain name on behalf of a Customer. This is subject to the payment of the prescribed Fee as listed on this website on the domains page.

ZAWebHosts has no role in deciding whether an applicant has a legitimate right to the domain name. The applicant, in lodging the request for the domain name, warrants that it is entitled to register and use the domain name as requested.

While ZAWebHosts strives to ensure that registration and subsequent DNS propagation is effected in the shortest period of time, ZAWebHosts cannot be held liable for any delays that may accompany the registration of domain names

The Customer will be required to agree to the terms of the registrant agreement in respect of the domain name space before registration and will be bound by the terms and conditions of the relevant domain name space. ZAWebHosts may post links to these terms and conditions purely as a convenience to the Customer.

Refund of Domain Registration Fees

Any amount paid to ZAWebHosts to register, transfer or renew a domain name is not refundable once the transaction took place.

General Terms and Conditions applicable to Domain Registrations

We do not permit “cybersquatting” - registering a Domain Name in bad faith with the intention of profiting from the goodwill of a trademark belonging to someone else.

Registering a Domain Name is like getting a licence. As long as the Domain Name is paid up, you can continue to use it. Even though Domain Names are not regarded as “property” the domain name is registered in the name of the “Registrant”.

It is important to ensure that the correct person or entity is reflected as the Registrant as you as Registrant or your agent will have full control of your Domain Name. ZAWebHosts only maintains the Domain Name on your behalf.

If you are a Reseller, you agree not to make yourself the Registrant of your customer’s Domain Name. If you do so, we reserve the right to terminate your Reseller status.

Domain Availability

ZAWebHosts use external feeds to display domain name availability on our website. When searching for a domain name via our WHOIS lookup, the service may show the domain as available however it might already be registered by another registrar. In such a case we cannot be held liable and if no alternative suitable domain name is registered, ZAWebHosts will refund the Customer in full.

Premium Domains

Various registries worldwide mark high value domains as “premium” domains, these domains cost more. It is possible that a Customer order a domain name that turns out to be marked as a “premium” domain. The Customer will be given the option to pay the higher fee or cancel the order. In case of cancellation the Customer will be refunded and the order cancelled.

Domain Renewal

ZAWebHosts will send the Customer a number of notifications per email before the expiry of a domain name. It is up to the Customer to ensure that the domain is renewed as ZAWebHosts will not be liable for any damage suffered by the Customer as a result of its failure to renew a domain name.

Redemption Period

Should a Customer neglect to renew a domain before the expiry date the domain will enter a “Closed Redemption” period. During this time the domain can still be renewed but at an additional cost. The amount varies between Registries. Failing to renew during the redemption period will make the domain available on the open market again.

Customer Information

When registering or renewing a domain name ZAWebHosts will collect and transmit the Customer’s Personal Information to the registrar, which will in turn transmit it to the registry. Certain personal information will be available for public access via a public WHOIS service. The personal information may be transmitted offshore. When registering the domain the Customer consents to the collection and processing of its Personal Information for this purpose.

Intellectual Property Rights

The Customer warrants that in applying for registration or using a domain name it is not infringing the intellectual property rights of any third party. If any domain name dispute is brought in respect of a domain name registered by the Customer through ZAWebHosts we may furnish a third party with the Customer’s name and address and thereafter refer all correspondence relating to the matter to the Customer and The Customer indemnifies ZAWebHosts in respect of all costs incurred should ZAWebHosts be obliged to defend the dispute.
